Hi, I’m Neissa
Hey y’allllllll! Neissa Diabate here! Neiss for short and on the first try, you’ll probably mispronounce my last name but that’s OK lol I’m used to it. I’m a first generation African American with heritage that stems from Mali, Africa. Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in a neighboring city called Elgin.
Travel has always been an essential part of me. I don’t know life without a passport. As a young girl, many summers were dedicated to travel; visiting family members in different parts of the states, Europe, and Africa. As I got older, my desire to live life on vacation expanded. I wanted to see more. I wanted to experience more. But HOW??
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a month and moved to New York City for grad school a few months later. As a young adult, my studies were used as a means to GO; temporarily out of the country, then permanently to a new city. I graduated from the fashion Marketing program at LIM College, then made the permanent move to Los Angeles. Living away from my immediate family only heightened my desire to always have the means to book a flight.. if not anywhere else, at least back home.
Since living in LA, I’ve visited countless of cities, states, and countries. I’ve grown to want to travel not just for vacation, but to create new overall experiences. I fell in love with connecting to new countries and baring witness to the tailored gems that come with each location. Trying new foods is an absolute favorite hobby of mine. Speaking with the locals and meeting new travelers along the way never gets old.
My dauntless mentality has allowed me to take advantage of opportunities and believe that with faith, anything is possible. I hope to learn, educate, and inspire others to travel more. I encourage others to experience life outside of their hometown, become friends with someone completely opposite of them, talk to strangers (with discernment and caution), be open to MORE, and book that flight! Do it confidently, do it scared, do it alone if you must. I truly believe that experiences turn into life’s greatest memories. The time is NOW. GO.
